The block was a good bit bigger than I expected from the pictures. It does keep the processor relatively cool and is virtually silent, which I like. The only problem I have with it is that the hoses from the block are not angle friendly and have to be moved into a very weird position to get the side panel onto the Lian-Li A4-H2O, which caused the woven outer sheath to pull easily out of the connector, exposing the power wire wound around the water hose. Good cover up job, but ultimately, not angle friendly. One of the best coolers for the money, although could be greatly improved with 45 degree swivelable connectors. the straight connectors are swivelable, so angled ones can be also. While its nice and quiet. Here are a few of the issues I have with it.1.) Fractal Design says its compatible with the node 804. It is, but the screw from the from foot pad is long enough to drive into the bottom of the radiator. if I screwed it in tight, it would likely puncture the radiator. I have left it loose. and a very thin double sided tape may be in order.2.) the fans plug into a breakout on the radiator. and run through the pump motherboard connector. this doesn't allow you to control the pump or the fans separately. the pump and fans are all controlled as one. most boards don't have a setting for this. my brand new board didn't.Other than that the build quality and over all the product is well built and should last a long timeIf you want an easy painless setup especially for first time builders this is the AIO for you. No software needed, no messy cables, no problem.I bought this for my Ryzen 7 1800X (Upgrading to Ryzen 7nm next year) I've looked and compared other AIOs from Corsair, NZXT, and even the new ASUS AIOs. I thought I might regret buying this but once I installed it all that went away. Even though it's a last gen asetek coldplate design it has the 5 year warranty to back it up compared to the Asus Ryuo/Ryujin which is 3.The one thing I did was I replaced the stock fans with the Noctua NF-A12x25 and NF-A12x15 for a push/pull config Running Prime95 I was hitting 67C max @ 3.9GHz OC. My system idles at 30C which is definitely better than my air cooler which was at 40-45C idle. Pump definitely doesn't make any noise which made me wondering if it was even running. The one note I can say is make sure you use the proper mounting brackets for AM4 motherboards vs AM3 and older. I made a stupid mistake and mounted the wrong one and my CPU hit 100C which tripped the overheating protection. Conclusion: Buy this cooler, Even if it looks bland and boring the ability to refill/expand the loop was worth the money and the fact that they're slapping 5 years on this just like the other high end competitors makes me really happy with my decision.CPU: AMD Ryzen 1800X 8 Core, 16 Threads @ 4GHzCPU COOLER: Fractal Design Celsius S24 240mm Push/Pull (2x Noctua NF-A12x25 PWM, 2x NF-A12X14 PWM)MOBO: ASUS Crosshair VI Hero w/ Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 8265GPU:Nvidia GeForce® EVGA RTX 2080 Ti FTW3 Ultra @ Stock (for now)ADD-ON CARD: Elgato HD60 Pro PCIe Streamer CardRAM: G.Skill Trident Z RGB 32GB 4x8GB @ 3200MHz CAS 14-14-14-34-52 (Stable, Samsung B-Dies)SSD: 1x Toshiba OCZ RD400 256GB NVMe (Boot Drive) 1x Toshiba OCZ Vector 180 480GB(Game Drive), 1x Toshiba OCZ Vector 180 960GB (Game Drive), 1x Intel 545s 256GB (Game Drive), 1x Intel 545s 512GB (Game Drive), 1x Samsung 860 EVO 500GB (Game Drive)HDD: 2x Toshiba X300 6TB 1x Seagate Ironwolf Pro 8TBPSU: EVGA SuperNOVA 1000 T2 80+ TITANIUM 1000W w/ Cablemod Pro ModMesh Sleeved Cables. Most pumps come from the same manufacturers, and the differentiation usually comes down to (1) quality control, (2) tube and stock fan quality, (3) ease of installation, and finally (4) aesthetics. Poor QC is usually what causes us to read those nightmare stories about AIO coolers- unexpected and random leaks being the top concern. The second horror story is usually installation, bending pins or otherwise incorrectly installing the radiator and fans.Fractal's AIOs are way down there on aesthetics. No RGB, very spartan appearance. But the other 3 points are top notch. They have a reputation for good quality control and long lasting parts. The tubing and fan quality (stock) are great. And their installation instructions are reminiscent of Ikea- clear, consistent and heavy use of good visuals.I can't complain. I've had the S24 for about two years now, installation was smooth and of course no leaks. Sure it doesn't have fancy lighting but honestly I *wanted* an AIO that focused more on quality than aesthetics. Fractal knocked it out of the park with their AIOs. No nonsense, just install and play. I barely notice the noise from the pump; my Corsair maglev fans are louder. Performance is top notch, my 2700x runs cool 100% of the time. Overall would recommend Fractal's AIOs and some of their fans over the competition. It's easy to get carried away with RGB and bells and whistles but what you really (should) want in an AIO cooler is quality control & ease of installation.Certainly Better than Old CoolerMaster ML240 - Easy to install, one main cable to plug into board, route Pwr Fans cables around edges to secure with mounting screws & or included strain reliefs, smooth and no hassle. One of the best brands with high quality. Could not pay me to own a Corsair product.Reviewing this after a year of the purchase.Works perfectly keeping my delided 8700k at nice and happy temperatures at 4.8Ghz and does that already for a year. The pump is also not very noisy, I don't notice it at all inside the case. After a year I see no performance difference since brand new.Really good cooler for my workstation. Had to work out the right one in terms of noise and socket.Used on a threadripped for 3d rendering, keeps the temperature easily under 60 Celsius under full load.I absolutely love this cooler, using a r7 2700x at stock clocks it runs very cool at 50c while gaming. This was my first aio cooler and I was a little worried about the install process, but it's super easy and supports AM4 out of the box. The only downside for me is the fact that the fans make a slight buzzing sound due to vibration. There is a lot of vibration in my case though so It might be different for someone else who purchases this cooler. Overall would recommend.Auto setting is perfect for a hackintosh, no worrying about if pwm is working or not. Keeps an i7 6700k that is overclocked to 4.6 under 80C with a 7 thread CPU burn. Good cable management. Can't seem to control the fans very well on PWM (variably through different temperatures) without the pump getting noisy. But its auto mode is good enough without overclocking on an 8-core chip. :) Even if it does leave my processor running a little warmer than I'd like when gaming.
